Where it started
I wanted a tattoo. I couldn't find anywhere that made me feel welcome.
I wasn't a tattoo person. I didn't know the language, the unwritten rules, or how to walk in and ask for what I wanted. I had an idea I'd been carrying around for a while, and no clue how to make it real.
"Most consultations felt like auditions I hadn't prepared for. I always left more confused than when I walked in."
So in 2017, I stopped looking and started building. Thundercat was the studio I wished had existed — where genuine craft meets genuine care, and nobody has to feel like an outsider.
